RW-1013
DMF RW-1013 railgear is designed for application to pickup and SUV chassis from 6,400 to 10,000 lbs. GVWR. Chassis up to 11,500 can be accommodated with their extended payload package. It is only applicable to vehicles with single rear wheels. RW-1013’s adjustable suspension, easy operation, and numerous safety and convenience features provide a smooth and sure ride.
The RW-1013 railgear typically stows within the length of the vehicle, eliminating the maneuvering and parking problems long associated with hi-rail vehicles. Without railgear protruding in front and behind, working around the vehicle is easier than ever. Access to the truck bed or rear hatch is not affected.
RW-1013 is hydraulically operated from a control panel in the cab or by switches at the front and rear of the vehicle. A rotary actuator moves the railgear from the nearly hidden stowed position to the rail position in seconds.
RW-1013 uses a rubber torsion suspension at each guidewheel to improve on-rail ride and negotiate track features such as guarded frogs. Both rubber and steel tread guide wheels are available.
On RW-1013 equipped vehicles, all vehicle tires ride on the rail allowing the railgear to be lighter, minimizing the impact on payload. This requires aftermarket wheel kits on full-sized pickups and cab chassis. The smaller Toyota 4Runner can be used with factory wheel/tire offerings.
RW-1015
DMF RW-1015 railgear is designed for application to pickup and SUV chassis from 8,000 to 12,000 lbs. GVWR. It is only applicable to vehicles with single rear wheels. RW-1015’s adjustable suspension, easy operation, and numerous safety and convenience features provide a smooth and sure ride.

RW-1019 & RW-1019B
DMF’s RW-1019 railgear is a scaled-down version of our patented and very successful RW-1630 gear for large trucks. The front guide wheel assembly attaches to the frame and front axle and lifts the front wheels off the track, thus, utilizing the vehicle’s front suspension. This design supports the vehicle as it was intended and helps the truck navigate curves smoothly and dampen out the effects of track irregularities. The rear assembly attaches directly to the truck frame behind the rear axle spring hanger. It deploys with an articulated dual-scissor action that allows the rear railgear to be moved both vertically and horizontally. This mechanism provides the “side-shift” action which has made DMF gear so well-known in the industry. It gives operators a greater margin for aligning the vehicle to the track which speeds and simplifies the process of getting the vehicle on rail.
DMF now offers an updated alternative to our popular 1019 railgear. 1019B rear railgear is a compact design which straddles the rear fuel tank and eliminates the need for frame extensions. When deployed, the rear railgear axle is positioned very close to the vehicle’s tires for maximum curvature performance. 1019B front railgear offers improved front ground clearance and requires minimal front bumper extension. These improvements result in a more functional, maneuverable, and aesthetically pleasing completed vehicle. This design was specifically created to accommodate the standard rear-mounted fuel tanks on most chassis. 1019B railgear features a unique swinging deployment path that offers the reassurance of a true over-center design at both the front and rear. Locking safety pin-offs are easily actuated from the bumpers. 1019B railgear installations do not tie into the vehicle suspension, require no welding to the truck frame, and make use of factory frame hole locations where possible.
RW-1212
DMF’s RW-1212 railgear is a scaled-down version of our patented and very successful RW-1630 gear for large trucks. The front guide wheel assembly attaches to the frame and front axle and lifts the front wheels off the track, thus utilizing the vehicle’s front suspension. This design supports the vehicle as it was intended and helps the truck navigate curves smoothly and dampen out the effects of track irregularities. The rear assembly attaches directly to the truck frame behind the rear axle spring hanger. It deploys vertically with an articulated dual-scissor action that allows each side of the rear to be moved independently. This mechanism provides the “side-shift” action which has made DMF gear so well-known in the industry. It gives operators a greater margin for aligning the vehicle to the track which speeds and simplifies the process of getting the vehicle on rail.
RW-1420
DMF’s RW-1420 railgear is a scaled-down version of our patented and very successful RW-1630 gear for large trucks. RW-1630 / 1650
DMF’s RW-1630 railgear is our original and very successful hi-rail gear for large trucks. The front guide wheel assembly attaches to the frame and front axle and lifts the front wheels off the track, thus, utilizing the vehicle’s front suspension. This design supports the vehicle as it was intended and helps the truck navigate curves smoothly and dampen out the effects of track irregularities. The rear assembly attaches directly to the truck frame behind the rear axle/tandem spring hangers.
