Now a part of the nations largest family-owned and operated truck equipment manufacturer The Godwin Group, Good Roads continues its tradition of manufacturing quality, industry proven products at affordable prices. They patented the first four wheel grader in 1889, and manufactured the first snow plow ever built specifically for use with motor equipment in 1913. It was designed to meet the exacting requirements outlined by engineers of the New York City Street Cleaning Bureau. Throughout the first half of the century, Good Roads manufactured 75% of all snow plows used in the United States. Since that time, Good Roads has been a staple in the snow removal industry with a reputation for dependability and product innovation.

SNOW PLOWS

112 TWO-WAY PLOW

Small and light, this plow throws snow in either direction. It’s ideal for getting into and clearing small, congested areas with ease. It features six 1/2″x3″ vertical ribs, 3 hinge points, and 60″ outside hinge centers. The 112 is ideal for light/medium duty applications.

112M TWO-WAY PLOW

Like the Model 112 but with a compound curve on top of the moldboard. More curvature provides more confinement of the snow until it’s thrown off the side of the moldboard. The 112M Features six 1/2″x3″ vertical ribs, 3 hinge points, and 60″ outside hinge centers.

120 TWO-WAY PLOW

The 120 series plow is a wider, heavy duty alternative to the 112. It Features eight 1/2″x3″ vertical ribs, 5 hinge points, and116″ outside hinge centers. The 120 is ideal for medium to heavy duty applications.

120M TWO-WAY PLOW

Like the Model 120 but with a compound curve on top of the moldboard. More curvature provides more confinement of the snow until it’s thrown off the side of the moldboard. The 120M features eight 1/2″x3″ vertical ribs, 3 hinge points, and116″ outside hinge centers.

712 ONE-WAY PLOW

This tapered one way design is ideal for medium duty applications, and is designed for high speed snow removal. The 712 is large enough for freeway use, yet small enough for city streets and county roads where single direction snow throwing is desired.

AIR RIDE PLOW OPTION

Save the Blade with the “Air Ride” advantage

DISADVANTAGES OF THE OLD

Cutting edge wear has always been an issue with plowing snow in the winter. The current solution is a hydraulic modification that maintains upward hydraulic pressure on the plow lift cylinder, thus reducing the weight of the plow on the road surface. In concept, this does work… to a point:

  • One must modify existing hydraulic systems, which adds complexity.
  • Wherever the valve is placed must be adjustable, requiring tools to do so.
  • Although upward pressure is apparent, it is non-forgiving and can be somewhat rigid in performance.
  • Does not react to changing conditions quick enough, no shock absorber like performance or “spring” action.

ADVANTAGES OF THE NEW

The “Air Ride Plow” utilizes “air spring” technology and a custom lift arm assembly to gently maintain upward motion to accomplish the same as the hydraulic version. Advantages are as below:

  • Can be easily added to existing GN-200 snow plow push frames (shown above).
  • No modifications whatsoever to the existing hydraulics; the simpler the better.
  • Can be made adjustable inside the cab by the operator.
  • The air spring design maintains a steady air ride quality like a road tractor suspension.
  • Very flexible, and has an inherent “spring” to be more forgiving over various road conditions.
  • Costs less than half the price, and is simpler to install and maintain.

TAILGATE SPREADERS

Three models available covering a full range of popular application needs.

TS96-DD (Shown Above)

  • Direct drive operation reduces number of moving parts, assuring dependable service.
  • Under tailgate mounting allows normal use of dump body without interference from spreader.
  • Rugged 7-gauge trough has 3-point hinged bottom cover that provides easy access to entire auger assembly for easy, one-person cleanout.
  • Spreads from 4′ to 40′ of rock salt, free-flowing granular materials or chemicals.
  • Auger is supported by 1-1/4″ steel shaft ends and has right and left flighting to the discharge port delivering a continuous, consistent flow of spreading material.
  • Sealed, self-aligning 1-1/4″ diameter radial bearings with grease fittings.
  • Low-speed, high-torque orbital motors.
  • Spreader assemblies come with material trough, auger assembly, spinner and auger motors, spinner assembly, 18″ polyurethane spinner and mounting plates.
  • Hydraulic safety lockout system.
  • Stainless steel model includes stainless steel mounting brackets.
  • Poly adapter for auger motor improves serviceability.
