Judy yelled, “April Fools!” Pat said, “It may be April fools Day, but I will not be going back.” They had two toddlers in diapers at that time, and realizing he had quit a good, steady job, Judy cried for weeks. Judy had a job as a cashier at a local grocery store, and when she left for work each day, Pat would unplug the electric stove and plug in his welder that was situated in a detached garage. 184U SERIES BODY
- This body is available in lengths of 8′ to 11′ in 1′ increments. Inside width from side to side is 84″.
- One piece sides with no welded seams. 10 gauge A607 grade-50 high tensile steel with boxed top rail and fully welded boxed rear corner post. 6″ side board gussets with full length rub rails, and box-type sidebraces.
- Full length 45 degree deflector panels are an integral part of the sides.
- Floor is 10 gauge -two piece high tensile steel floor with 2″ floor to side radius. A607 grade-50 steel.
- Front wall is 10 gauge high tensile A607 grade 50 steel. Full width integral inverted V-type horizontal bracing.
- Tailgate is a3-Panel fully boxed 10 gauge high tensile A607 grade 50 steel with boxed horizontal reinforcements and sloping lower deflector. Tailgate is 6″ higher than side.
- Tailgate hardware is heavy duty. Standard upper hardware is offset cast steel hinge. Lower hook is cast steel, and engages tailgate pin from top. Banjo eye keeps tailgate chain in position you select.
- FMVSS 108 lights are standard, recessed for protection, rubber mounted and shock proof.
- Understructure is completely jig built with 3″ structural channel crossmembers on 12″ centers and 5″structural channel longitudinal. Crossmembers are gusseted and welded to longitudinals.

- The Godwin 600U/T series body is available in lengths form 14′ to 20′ in 6″ increments. Side heights from 42″ to 60″ are available in 6″ increments.
- Floor is 3/16″ AR450 one-piece floor with 12″ radius to sides.
- One piece 10-gauge 50K minimum yield with fully boxed top rails, material shedding lower rails, full depth rear posts, ladders and grab handles both side and front, continuous weld.
- Understructure is a crossmemberless design with 3/16″ formed trapezoid longitudinal members with rubber cushion in formed track.
- Front wall is 10 gauge 50K minimum yield steel with horizontal formed inverted “V” reinforcements.
- Tailgate is 3-panel 10 gauge 50K minimum yield steel with full perimeter bracing and two intermediate horizontal braces continuous weld.
- Tailgate hardware is heavy-duty. Cast steel upward acting top hardware with air operated adjustable cast steel overshot lower hardware and spreader chains. Banjo eyes near bottom of gate control opening you select.
- FMVSS 108 required lights and reflectors. L.E.D. lights are recessed and rubber grommet mounted.
